Bonnie and an old pack horse bridge in the Peak District. We had been to the top of Kinder Scout (636m) and this is at the bottom of Jacob's Ladder, a steep path at the beginning of the Pennine Way trail which leads from here to just over the Scottish Border, 268 miles northwards.

These are the rocks called Ringing Roger near the top of Kinder Scout. When the wind is in the right direction, they make a ringing noise. A great place to rest and have a snack before continuing to the top of the mountain.

In the Spring, these bluebell woods by the shore of Rutland Water are a beautiful sight.

A typical English countryside scene

The turn into our village in winter

One man and his dog come together in the snow!
